Saturday Morning at Cafe Haas

Cape Town is full of special places. One of my favorites is Cafe Haas in Bokaap.
If you go down Rose Street early on a Saturday, you cannot miss it.
For many it is home from home through its old world charm, mixed with art, good food and the flavor of freshly roasted coffee in the air.
Coming in, one enters a surreal world. A world which makes you forget the hectic buzz of the city.
There is so much to notice, that it takes your mind on a trip down coffee lane.
And "Haas" is watching over you.
This is a place where you can live in art and become part of the art. A gallery to live in.
Whilst "Haas" is keeping watch in the window...
...one gets comforted,
laughs,
talks,
dreams,
or just meets old friends.
Among mystical creatures ....
and angels...
this becomes a refuge and a daily piece of heaven.

Kalk Bay Delight

After a hot Bliss Dance last night I went to Dalebrook Pool for a morning swim. The water was so refreshing cool and crystal clear.
It was high tide and gentle waves were washing into the pool.
Refreshed and so alive I decided to walk up the mountain above the village.

After a short cold and wet spell of autumn weather the fynbos is full of small wonders.
Nature invites me to calm down and to meditate with it's mandalas.
Drawing me in from the outside
Resting in the inside
Unfolding anew with every breath
Blossom with new life

A little world of wonders with new life sprouting between the skeleton of the old.
How beautiful are even the tiny most common plants.
On my way down I met a tiny warrior in his shiny black amour.

Autumn Feelings at the foot of Table Mountain

Today the morning fog created a veil of innocence.
Snow white balls of flowers are like festive decorations.
The city's ugliness is covered with fine mist.
Trees are dancing in the morning light.
The stream provides an endless symphony.
Giggling and splashing with joy.
Reflecting the majesty of our mountain as the sun lights it up.
Breathing in and standing tall a welcome to a beautiful autumn day.

Morning Blues - Walking up to Tafelberg Road

I felt soft and with a hint of sadness this morning. Walking up from the Spar in Vredehoek to Tafelberg Rd. The town lies quiet with glittering lights.
Sad night eyes look at me on butterfly wings.
A golden sky dawns over the harbor. Today the harbor is painted in orange and gold promising a shelter in  winter storms to come.
The clouds herald a glorious day.
A land of shadows soon will be light.
Every morning the sun wins this battle.
The cork oak seems to carry the scars of this fight. Looking like a shadow monster in the dark and covering itself with the thick crust against the sun during the day.
Our path, is it an uphill battle, crisscrossing steep up the mountain and where does it lead to?
Do we need fury protection, not to dry out in this relentless baking sun?
Or do we juggle our existence like berries on thin twigs.
Are we busy like bees and do not notice the bigger picture.
Every day anew the light illuminates the crown of creation.
The mountain has millions of mandalas to meditate for those who are willing to see.

Connecting to the Rocks

When I swim in the sea, I am close to and surrounded by the granite boulders which are so typical for the Cape coast. The rocks are calmin...
